HELPING FAMILIES IN NEED IN NICARAGUA!

Over the last few weeks Covid cases in Esteli, Nicaragua have increasing dramatically. Many people are sick or have a loved ones that are sick. We have not been having the kids feedings this past month for two reasons. One, our missionary in Nicaragua was sick with Covid and has been recovering. The second reason was we did  not want the children, the children's families, or our leaders to be put in a place with a large amount of people where there would be a possibility that someone may get Covid. Their sickness, or possible death, would be our responsibility. We discussed with our leaders in the USA and in Nicaragua, and we decided to take the money that we would have use for the kids feedings and bless families who are in need. We have come up with a small love offering what we called "blessings envelopes".

We made a list of families that we knew needed a little help. These are kids who attend our Bible study and feeding events in the general area where we serve. With the money that has been given to us, we were able to give each family on the list C$500 cordobas (Nicaraguan currency). Also within the envelope was a special note from us. The money, envelopes, paper, tape, and bags that were used to create the blessing envelopes were all disfected multiple times as they were made to make sure we were being as safe as we could.

The note from Hilltop Ministries to the families said this:

"Blessings,

Here is some help for you during this difficult time. Use this money as you need it for medicine, transportation, food, or whatever expenses you have right now. You are in our prayers. 

God bless you and your family!

 Philipians 4:7"  

The envelopes were given out throughtout the week, and the families had no idea about what we were doing. It was a sweet surprise for them, and they were very thankful. However, out of the respect of the families, we did not take photos of the families receiving their blessing. We will be making a post early next week with testimonies from some of the families that received an envelope.

Hilltop Ministries has been serving in Nicaragua since January 2011. Our journey began with a feeding program on February 13, 2011. PRAYER WARRIORS NEEDED: UPDATE ON ANTONIO

  Many of you may remember Antonio from when we raised funds to help him prepare his house for dialysis for his kidneys back in August 2020. Recently, Antonio has not been feeling well. He went to the hospital in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, last week, and they told him he had an infection. They put him on medicine to help with the infection, but over the week, he has progressively gotten worse and weaker. The family decided to transfer him from the hospital in Managua to the hospital in Esteli to be closer to family. He arrived in Esteli on November 13. We write this post to call on our supporters and prayer warriors to keep Antonio and his family in your prayers.
