PRAY FOR NICARAGUA : COVID-19

We ask that you join us in prayer for the people of Nicaragua. Currently there has been surge in postive cases of Covid-19 in Nicaragua. As many know, our missionary and her family got Covid at the beginning of August. Thankfully they are all recovering well, but for many in Nicaragua that is not the case. The hospitals, clinics, and health department locations, at least in Esteli where our missionary lives, are overwhelmed with patients. The demand for oxygen is far greater than anyone expected. Some people are able to get oxygen tanks and hire private doctors, but there are many that are not able to receive that care. The hospital and other places have too many patients, not enough doctors and nurse to care for everyone needs, limited ventilators, and for many the wrong treatment plan. Hiring a private doctor and getting an oxygen tank are what some are doing and many wish they had the funds to do so. For some of the people of Nicaragua, who want to go the home route in treating Covid, this can be impossible. Most of them only make $100-$300 a month for their whole family. With the high demand of oxygen, findng an oxygen tank to rent or even buy is hard to come by. Then when you need to refill the tank the lines are so long you will be waiting from 1 hour to 3 hours.

With many people that are miss informed on what to take and do, doctors prescribing the wrong medicine and treatment, and just the generally proverty of the area many people are not surviving Covid. Our missionary said that for over a week she can log onto Facebook and each day there are at least 2 to 5 people that have passed away from Covid or family members of people she knows that have passed away. The town of Esteli isn't as busy as before, and when she had to go into town to get food the town had an eeri feeling. You can tell the change.

The people in Nicaragua are in a dark times right now. We are asking that you join us in prayer for healing for those who are sick, wisdom to the health care providers, peace for the people that have lost a loved one, and for the people to start experience God's love and joy again. That they find hope during this hard time.

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20
